Alexander Cohane and his adorable wife brought their goods from England to wow us all with their timeless pieces that have no time. For the person who loves the look of modernity, this was the booth, because he has chosen pieces that defy the very idea of “period,” Look at this fabulous table.
And behind it was the most amazing chest which I might have sworn was art deco, only to find out it was 200 years older. Both would be so great in a soft, modern room with plain white walls and white casement curtains blowing in the wind from the sea. The armoire (chest) would have almost faded into the walls, as would the curtains, while the table would bring us back down to earth in, as Mary Popins might have said, “a most delightful way.”
